II. Early Life & Background

Vermont roots, hospitality at the family table

Born and raised in Vermont, Sherman grew up in a family that ran a small ski-country inn. The economics of multi-week guests sharing a single asset would later become the throughline of his career.

He entered real estate in 1989 and within four years was running fractional sales programs for the American Skiing Company, then a publicly traded operator of nine resorts across North America.

III. Professional Career

From American Skiing Co. to Ritz-Carlton Club

After American Skiing, Sherman led fractional programs at Intrawest, the Trapp Family Lodge, and Killington Grand Hotel. By the mid-2000s he was consulting directly to Ritz-Carlton Club, Four Seasons, and St. Regis on share-pricing models, exchange-network structure, and member governance.

In 2005 he founded LuxuryFractionalGuide.com to make the operator-side knowledge accessible to independent owners and small developers — the audience he still serves today.

IV. Key Contributions

Author, founder, trainer, fixer

Sherman wrote Fractionalize to Maximize in 1998, founded LuxuryFractionalGuide.com in 2005, and developed the Relationship Fractional Sales methodology that is now taught in two dozen brokerages.

His Fractional Education in a Box program is licensed by independent agents in 14 U.S. states and three foreign markets.
